Guide / Sending rules

Sending rules

  • Caps. 20 emails per mailbox per day by default, plus a daily cap shared by every campaign. New mailboxes ramp up from warmup.start_date: 5 a day, then 3 more every 3 days.
  • Spacing. A random gap of 3 to 8 minutes per mailbox, only inside sending.window (weekdays 09:00 to 17:30 by default). Set timezone to your market's.
  • Suppression. One list shared by every campaign and mailbox, checked when drafting, when approving and again right before sending.
  • Plain text only. No tracking pixels, and at most one link in the body.
A page from the guide to our own outreach tool, trimmed to fit. In-house work, not client work: it shows how we write docs, with the settings named and the defaults stated.

What you get

  • A free docs review first. We read your public docs the way a new user would and email you what's missing or out of date, with the page for each.
  • Docs for what you ship. Up to 8 new or fully rewritten pages a month: how-to guides, concept pages and reference pages for new and changed features. Each one is written within 5 business days of the feature reaching your test site or going live.
  • Small edits on top, like a renamed button, a new setting or a corrected step, with no page count.
  • Release notes for each release, in your changelog, written for customers rather than as a list of tickets.
  • API reference kept current, if you publish an API: updated from your OpenAPI file, with example requests we run against your test account before they go in.
  • A monthly drift check. We go through your 20 most-visited pages against the live product and fix any step, screenshot or setting that no longer matches.
  • Questions your support team keeps answering, turned into help pages. Forward them as they come in.
  • A short monthly note: what we changed, what's still missing and what we suggest for next month.

What we need from you

  • A test account or test site with the features turned on, and a list of what's in each release (tickets, pull requests or a release plan).
  • Edit access to your docs: the repository, or a user on your docs platform.
  • One technical person who answers our questions, usually about 30 minutes a week, and checks drafts for accuracy.
  • Your OpenAPI file, if you have an API.
  • Support questions worth turning into pages, forwarded as they come in.

We work in your tools: a docs repository, a docs platform or a help centre. You add us as a user on your accounts. We never take ownership of an account, and you can remove our access whenever you like.

How it goes

  1. Today

You send the form with your docs address.

  2. Within 1 business day

The free docs review arrives by email: the gaps we found, with the page for each.

  3. You say go

We send a statement of work and the first month's invoice. The retainer is $1,500 a month, paid at the start of each month.

  4. Week 1

We get access, use the product, read every docs page and agree a priority list with you.

  5. Weeks 2 to 4

The first pages and release notes. Your technical person checks each draft. Two rounds of changes are included on each page.

  6. Each month after

Docs for each release within 5 business days, the drift check, and the monthly note.

What's not included

  • More than 8 new or rewritten pages in a month. Unused pages don't carry over. Extra pages are quoted first.
  • Moving to a new docs platform or building a docs site from scratch. That's the launch package.
  • Marketing pages, blog posts, sales decks and video tutorials.
  • Translations.
  • Terms of service, privacy notices or other legal documents.
  • Writing or fixing your product's code, SDKs or OpenAPI file.

What we've written so far

Most of what we write for ourselves is documentation: setup guides, command references and plain "what doesn't work yet" lists for our own tools. The guide for our outreach tool runs to about 490 lines and covers setup, every command, the safety rules and what we haven't verified. That's in-house work, not client work, so judge the writing itself: ask for a page of it along with your free outline or review.

The prices

Review of your public docsFree
Documentation retainer: up to 8 new or rewritten pages, release notes, API updates, monthly drift check$1,500/month in advance, 3-month minimum, then cancel with 30 days' notice
Founding price, first 3 months (<b class="live-count">2 of 2 founding places left</b>)$1,000/month for the first 3 months, then $1,500/month
Extra pages in a busy monthQuoted in writing before we start

Founding price: $1,000/month for your first 3 months, then $1,500/month. Only the first 2 retainer clients get it (the docs and deliverability retainers share the 2 places): 2 of 2 founding places left. No testimonial is needed. We only write a case study if you choose to.

All prices in US dollars. We take on at most two retainers at a time, so the work gets done by the person you talk to. How you pay.

Before you pay, read the refund and cancellation policy, the service delivery policy and the terms of service.

What you risk: nothing for the docs review, which is free. The retainer is a fixed price you see before you pay, with a 3-month minimum, and the docs are yours.

Questions people ask first

What does it cost?

The docs review is free. The retainer is $1,500 a month, paid at the start of each month, with a 3-month minimum and then 30 days' notice to cancel.

How do you learn our product well enough?

By using it. The first week is for working through your test account and your existing docs, and your technical person answers what we can't work out. Every page gets checked by someone on your side before it goes live.

Who owns the docs?

You do. Everything is written in your repository or docs platform, and it's yours once the month is paid for.

Do you use AI to write the docs?

For first drafts, yes. Then a person follows every step in your product and runs every code example before the page goes to your reviewer. We'll tell you which pages started as AI drafts.

What if we ship nothing one month?

Then the month goes on the backlog: pages from the docs review, the drift check and support questions.

Who are you?

Autonomics AI is the trading name of AutonomicsAI LLP, registered in India (LLPIN ADA-5258). It's a small studio, so you deal with Sean Solano Paul, the person doing the work. More about us.

Where are you based?

Bangalore, India. We work in US dollars with businesses in the US and elsewhere, and keep US business hours by arrangement, so a call at 10 am your time is fine if you book it. Email gets a reply within one business day, Monday to Friday.

Can I talk to someone?

Yes. Use the contact form or email hello@autonomicsai.in, and suggest two times for a 15-minute call. You'll talk to Sean. Nobody will call you unless you ask.
