Fix what stops screen reader and keyboard users on your site, at one fixed price.

For small shops and service businesses. We fix the barriers in your theme and content, test the key pages by hand, and give you a written record of what changed. No certification is promised, because no honest fix can promise one.

Ask about your siteSee what's fixed

$1,250 fixed, half up front, up to 10 page templates, done within 10 business days of getting access.

What's fixed

  • Images. Alt text in the templates wherever an image carries meaning, plus written alt text for up to 150 existing product and page images. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
  • Forms. A real label on every field you control (contact, newsletter, search, booking and cart fields), and error messages a screen reader announces.
  • Links and buttons. A name on every icon-only link and button: menu, cart, search, social icons, slider arrows.
  • Page language and titles set on every template.
  • Contrast. Text and button colours adjusted in the theme to reach WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text), kept as close to your brand colours as possible. You approve the new swatches first.
  • Keyboard. A visible focus outline, a skip link, and menus and pop-ups that open, work and close from the keyboard. No keyboard traps in the theme.
  • Headings and landmarks in a sensible order on each template, so screen reader users can jump around the page.
  • Tested twice. axe-core on every template before and after, then by hand: a keyboard-only pass and a screen reader pass (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on iPhone) through the homepage, a product or service page, the cart or booking step and the contact form.
  • A written report: what was fixed and where, before-and-after counts, and what's left, with the reason.

What we need from you

  • A staff or collaborator account with theme access on Shopify, WordPress (WooCommerce included), Squarespace or Wix. Never your own password.
  • Your approval of any colour change before it goes live.
  • One person who answers questions, and descriptions for specialist products if a photo alone doesn't say what it is.

Works on Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace and Wix. Squarespace and Wix lock some parts of their templates; the written scope says which, before you pay.

What's not included

  • Third-party widgets and apps we can't edit (checkout and payment pages, chat, review and booking embeds). We list what we find in them so you can ask the vendor.
  • PDFs, video captions and transcripts, and content added after handover.
  • More than 10 page templates or 150 image descriptions. Extra work is quoted before we start.
  • Accessibility overlay widgets. We don't install them; the fixes go into your site's own code.
  • A legal opinion, a certification, a VPAT or conformance report, or a promise that the site meets the ADA or any other law or standard. Testing by tool and by hand removes barriers; it can't prove none are left.
  • Ongoing monitoring. Ask if you want it.

Why the work includes testing by hand

Automated tools such as axe-core and WAVE find only part of accessibility problems. They can see that an image has no alt text; they can't tell whether the menu traps a keyboard, or whether a screen reader makes sense of your checkout. So every fix is checked with a keyboard alone and with a screen reader before it goes live.

How it goes

  1. Today

You write in with your site address, or reply to the email that brought you here.

  2. Within 1 business day

A written scope: your templates, what we'd fix in each, the start date and the invoice.

  3. Business days 1 to 7

Fixes on a copy of your theme. You get a preview link and nothing on the live site changes yet.

  4. By business day 10

The keyboard and screen reader pass, fixes from it, the re-test, and your go-ahead to publish.

  5. Handover

The fixes go live and you get the report. For 14 days we fix anything we changed that breaks.

Questions people ask first

Will this make our site ADA compliant?

We don't promise that, and no fix can certify it. What we do promise is the scope above, done and tested by hand, with a written record of what changed and what's left.

Can you promise we won't get a demand letter or a lawsuit?

No. Nobody can. Fixing the barriers people actually hit is the useful part, and it's what we do. For legal questions, talk to a lawyer; the report is something you can hand them.

We already have an accessibility widget. Isn't that enough?

A widget adds a toolbar on top of the page; it doesn't change the theme's own code, which is what screen readers and keyboards use. You can keep it or remove it. That's your call, and the fixes don't depend on it.

Why not just run a free checker?

Do run one: WAVE and the axe browser extension are free and good. Automated checks find only part of the problems, though. Whether the menu works from the keyboard, or a screen reader makes sense of the checkout, needs a person.

What counts as a page template?

One layout used by many pages. A small shop is usually about 6 to 8: home, collection, product, cart, contact, about, blog post and a basic page. Every product page shares one template, so fixing it fixes them all.
